About this condensate pump

A mini-split condensate pump moves the water your indoor head produces up and out whenever a gravity drain isn't possible. Every mini-split makes condensate as it cools, and most systems drain it downhill through a sloped hose. When the head sits below the drain exit, on an interior wall with no downhill path, or at the end of a long horizontal run, gravity alone won't clear the water — and that's exactly what this pump is for.

When you need a condensate pump

  • The indoor head is mounted lower than the point where the drain leaves the building
  • An interior-wall install with no downhill route to the outside
  • Basement or below-grade rooms where the drain has to travel upward
  • Long horizontal runs where a gravity slope can't be maintained

How it works

A float switch senses condensate collecting in the head's drain pan and switches the pump on, lifting the water through small-diameter tubing to your drain line — up to about 33 ft of head. A built-in safety switch shuts the unit off before the pan can overflow, so a clog never becomes a leak. The pump is small enough to tuck behind the head or inside a line-set cover, keeping the install clean. Confirm your head's drain-fitting size and refrigerant against your installation manual, and see our line-set install guide for routing the drain alongside the line set.
