About this whip
The whip is the last leg of the condenser's power run: a flexible, liquid-tight conduit from the disconnect box to the unit's wiring compartment. This pre-made 1/2″ × 6 ft whip arrives with weatherproof fittings already installed on both ends, so there's no cutting conduit or assembling connectors on a ladder — mount, pull conductors, terminate. The flexible conduit also absorbs the condenser's vibration instead of transmitting it into rigid pipe.

Good to know
Size your conductors from the condenser nameplate (MCA and max breaker), not the whip. Most 9k–24k single zones run 14–10 AWG THHN plus a ground — an easy pull through 1/2″ conduit. Line-voltage work should be done or checked by a licensed electrician.
